Firewall Solutions
| | A firewall is a device that regulates traffic between networks, typically between a Local Area Network (LAN) and an Internet or Wide Area Network (WAN) connection, based on a defined security policy. It is often regarded as the first line of defence in any network security solution. However, unless properly configured and managed a firewall can be ineffective and even give an organisation a false sense of security resulting in reduced security provision elsewhere in the network. As firewall technology has developed, firewall systems have gained increased functionality. A key feature of modern firewall systems is the concept of Unified Threat Management (UTM). UTM firewalls may have many features in one system, including e-mail spam filtering, anti-virus capability, an intrusion detection or prevention system (IDS/IPS), and World Wide Web content filtering, along with the core functionality of a firewall. In all cases UTM functionality is optional allowing deployment of dedicated systems to fulfill these roles. A firewall may also provide Virtual Private Network (VPN) connectivity to other sites/networks/users across insecure networks. Cutecra are experts in the provision, integration, support and management of firewall systems. Cutecra recommend the following firewall solutions:
